Politics
I used to be into politics. I would listen to talk radio or watch Sunday morning shows to see which politician to be mad at, or how hopeless one political party is. After the 2004 election, I just got turned off because I couldn’t stand the hate any more. Here we are a nation of one; and we couldn’t be more far apart than we are today. Lately though, I’ve been watching the democratic primaries; and let me say, if I were a democrat, either I’d be ashamed of my party, or ashamed that I was a democrat. This party can’t even run its primaries correctly; how can a democratic house, senate, and president effectively run this country?
There’s the Florida and Michigan debacle where delegates don’t count because the party members turned on their party by holding the primaries too early. Then we have the super-delegates who are afraid to cast their vote for one candidate or the other because of fear from backlash by the voting public. I guarantee you that every super-delegate right now is wishing that Hilary would quit right now, and Hilary has vowed not to quit. Hilary Clinton is not afraid to divide her party for her own political gain; imagine what she’ll do as president. How could one be happy as a democrat; wait democrats typically aren’t happy. Shoot; there’s the hatred I was talking about.

There’s a new study out there that says that conservatives are happier than liberals. This isn’t the first year; it has been many years now. Why is this though? Why are conservatives happier than liberals? If you go on some of the websites, liberals announce that conservatives are ignorant, are rich and don’t have to worry about things, or drink Jesus juice. Wrong. Conservatives better themselves by trying to advance in their careers, work harder to provide for their families, and trust that they have control of their futures. Liberals believe that the government controls their futures. Because of this they are unhappy. You can’t rely on the government to make things happen, you have to rely on yourself.

Family
My wife and I got into a little tiff the other day over what we wanted for dinner. This tiff began to escalate into an argument, and our two and a half year old daughter got into the middle of us and decided to play mediator. With her arms flaring she turned to my wife and said, “Mama, calm down, calm down.” She then turned to me and said “Dada, chill. Chill dada.” Needless to say, our argument ended immediately. This serves as a little reminder; watch what you say around your kids.

People just don’t know how to drive in my city. I was on my way home when a car accelerated, and pulled out in front of me. After cutting me of he slowed way down; causing me to virtually come to a complete stop (I was on the freeway). After waiting a little; I decided to attempt to pass the car on the right, but another car decided to merge into that lane and go the exact speed as the car I was trying to pass. Why do drivers do this? If you are going the same speed as another car; just speed up to pass him, and then pull over to allow other cars to pass you. It was just a frustrating end to a frustrating day.

I understand that flying is more convenient, and it’s a quicker way to get from point ‘A’ to point ‘B’, but I don’t understand why people are still flying these days; especially on short 1-2 hour jaunts. If any other industry raised prices as much as the airlines have while cutting back on basic services and quality customer service, they would immediately go under. Instead of relying on the airline industry to get you there faster, take the extra day or two to drive or take the train. Your sanity and pocket book are worth it.

Today's Society
Well, along with gas prices, food prices are starting to sore. Milk, fruit, eggs, and meat prices are all rising due to several factors. Gas definately is a factor in the rising prices, but minimum wage increases, and rising corn prices are also reasons for the increase of food prices. As if rising prices weren’t enough, packages are also getting smaller. General mills has increased the price of Cherios, but made the boxes smaller, Wrigley is going to sell 15 stick gum packages instead of 17 stick packages, and your toilet paper squares are about to get smaller. Buckle up; things are gonna get worse!
