I work for a company that shows great pride in itself.  Because of this, they design shirts for the employes to wear in and outside of the office.  If you are looking for a great way to spread the news about your company, or create employee unity and pride; visit corporateshirtsdirect.com to create  company logo shirts.  Company shirts are a great low-cost way to create buzz, pride and unity about your company.

Women and Minorities in Politics

We all have heard about Barack Obama’s rise to his historic nomination this year.  We witnessed Hilary’s historic run this election season as well.  What the democratic party did this year is remarkable, and it’s good to see minorities and women take a bigger role in this country.

Do you recognize these names: Justice Scalia, Justice Thomas, or Condoleeza Rice?  Obviously you have, and all of these minorities hold important positions within our government.  The problem with this group is that they are conservative, not liberal.  It seems like whenever a liberal minority is in office, or is running for office, it’s a monumental moment that is great for America.  But if the candidate is a conservative, the spin on them is much different, and can even turn negative.

Let’s use John McCain’s nomination of Sarah Palin.  Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, is now the running mate of John McCain, and the attacks on her came fast and hard.  I understand that she was criticized for her lack of experience, but she was also criticized for being “out of touch.”  Democrats and the media were quick to point out that she doesn’t form to the mold of what they believe a woman should be.  Attacks included: she has five kids; including one who has down syndrome (this concerns pro-choice organizations), she has strong Christian values that is dangerous to liberal beliefs, and she tends to put her family before her career.  In other words; critics of the nomination say that “SHE’s NO HILLARY.”  Forget what she has gone through, forget that she is a great model of sacrifice and putting her family before herself.  Many liberals are saying because she’s conservative, doesn’t have a poor me/women/minority attitude, and because she puts her family before her career she’s, out of touch and no Hilary.  Sarah’s monumental nomination isn’t being portrayed that way, it’s being viewed as a danger and a threat to woman and minorities because she doesn’t fit the mold of a liberal candidate, and because of that it’s not as monumental if Obama would have picked a liberal woman; how sad.

Obama’s Speech

Wow, what a speech Obama gave last night.  (Yes, I am being serious).   I thought that Obama did what he needed to do.  He commended McCain when he needed to, hit him hard when he needed to, and appealed to the voters’ emotions.  He was extremely solid, fluent, and has drawn many comparisons to Bill Clinton.  All the pundits believed that his speech was one of the best because of the way it sounded and how he carried himself.  But when the emotions go away, when America forgets what he looked and sounded like, how will his speech look like then?

The speech sounded great, but how does it read?  When we are looking for a candidate, we want to know what was said, not HOW it was said.  Looking back, and reading some of the transcripts of the speech, it looks like any other political speech.  “I will not raise taxes, but I am going to increase the number of programs.”  Where is he going to get the money to increase the programs; oh, corporations and the rich.  “I will not raise taxes, but I will tax corporations more.”  What does he think is going to happen if he taxes them more?  They’re just going to sit back and eat the loss?  No, they’re going to pass it on to us, and we’ll still be in the same position.

I challenge all supporters of Obama to read the speech when the dust settles.  Read what was said, not how, and then question “How is he going to do this.”  “How will this NOT effect me?”  I guarantee if that happens, logic will kick in, and all that will be left are empty promises.

Since we are in some serious times with the conventions officially kicking off the presidential campaign season, I wanted to focus on some not so serious events that are occuring in our country.  Concierge.com has named Michael Jackson as one of the worst hotel guests in the world.   He has earned this prestigious award for dangling a 9-month old from the balcony, requsting an 18 foot wall be built on the first floor, and requesting a giant mirror and xylophone be placed in his room.  Others making the list include Britney Spears, Amy from the group “Rehab” and Mariah Carey.  Mariah Carey requested that the staff gold faucets be installed in her room, 2 dvd players playing her music videos, and mineral water for her an her dogs to bathe in.  And celebrities say their one of us.

Democratic National Convention

I didn’t get to see a lot of the convention last night; although I wish I were able to.  My wife asked me why I wanted to watch the convention.  The reason is I want to be as an informed voter as possible.  When I go to the polls in November, I want to know why I’m voting for a candidate, and why I’m not voting for one.

I was able to catch a little bit of the end of the convention last night.  I was extremely irritated how Obama’s kids were paraded around the stage to show that Obama is a “regular guy, just like us.”  I don’t care if a candidate is black or white, male or female, democrat or republican.  Leave your children out of the campaign.  It’s not fair to them, and it has nothing to do with your policies.  It just shows that you’re more into feelings, and trying to woo the voter on emotions, rather than show them what you stand for.  I personally don’t care how good of a husband or father Obama is.  I want to know what he is going to do about the conflict in Georgia, how he is going to handle a conflict with Russia or Iran, how he is going to fix the economy (without dipping into tax payers pockets).  These stances are what make a president, not his children standing on the stage saying that they love him.  I thought that was tasteless and inconciderate what they did last night.

The Best Time

I know that these are trying times for everybody.  Many of you are worried if you are going to lose your job, some of you are going back to school, and some of you are wondering how you are going to pay for that grocery bill.  Right now, everybody is looking for a way to save some extra money on big purchases such as washers, dryers, computers etc.  One of the best times to purchase such items is during black friday.  For those of you who don’t know, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving; and it’s coined Black Friday because many of the retail store get out of the red for the first time on this day.  Deals are to be had this day. 0% interest for a year, buy one; get one free, 30% off are some of the deals that you can expect.

There are two fundamental problems with Black Friday.  The first is that most stores open at 5 am or earlier; and many people spend the night outside waiting for the store to open.  I don’t know about you, but it’s physically impossible for me to do this; and I can’t get up before 8:30 the day after Thanksgiving.  The other problem is that you need to sort through all the ads in order to find the one you want; until now.  Last year, I stumbled about blackfridayscans .com, and it was one of the greatest ad sights I have found on the net.  In just a few moments, you can click and view the ad that you want without the hassle of looking through the entire paper.  Also, you can sign up for the newsletter, and be informed when a new ad has posted to the website.

Black Friday has saved me and my wife thousands of dollars on interest rates and overall savings.  This year, we plan to buy a stove, and we already know that we will get a higher quality stove because we are going to purchase it on Black Friday.  Be smart, save money, and shop the day after Thanksgiving.

Political Correctness at it’s Best

It seems that every year we find new ways to coddle our children. It all started years ago when I was swimming in the city summer league. A couple of summers before I quit the team, the city started handing out “participation ribbons.” It didn’t matter how hard the swimmer tried, how far back they finished, or whether they were able to complete the event legally; the swimmer got a ribbon for just doing it. The following summer the city decided that keeping score and determining a winner for the meets was too competative feelings were getting hurt. (I loved it; I wanted to beat the teams I was racing against). Now, a 9 year old boy has been told that he can’t pitch because he is too good. The league decided that Jericho Scott is too gifted to play, and that he no longer can pitch for his team. When the coach decided to pitch him anyway, the opposing team decided to forfeit. Oh, that’s the way to teach the kids. If you’re too good, you can’t play. If you play against someone that is too good; quit. But if you stink, the coach still has to give you equal playing time so that you won’t go home crying to mama. The league has made a statement that since the incident, the coach has resigned, and the team is going to be dismantled.

This mentality is demagaing to kids, and the American way. This not only happens in schools and sports, but also in the adult world. The ignorance and equalizing that the liberals; yes that’s right, the liberals do this, is damaging children and adults. Because we tax the wealthy; people don’t want to be as successful, because we equalize the talented and un-talented; we are rewarding mediocracy and punishing hard work. I feel for Jericho Scott because he now has question why he’s being punnished for being good at what he does. How is this fair?

Everybody wants to upgrade that kitchen inside their house; add some granite countertops, make a larger pantry, and add a new light fixture. For the Baby

Having a baby takes a lot of time, patience and energy. One day you need to go to the grocery store for food, then to the clothing store, and finally to the furniture store for some extra items for the nursery. If the mom works full time, time and energy are at a premium. If you have just had a baby, or are in the market for baby furniture, you need to visit maternityandbabyshoppingmart.com. They have everything from baby bedding, to pregnancy pillows. The best part is that there is no driving all around town, and shipping is free on orders $99 and up.

Tollerance, acceptance, and …

We all know that there was a tragic school shooting that took place earlier this week. What you may not know is that the victim was a young gay teen you decided to flaunt his sexuality. Because school districts are becoming more liberal, and are open to anything except for conservative values (because we’re closed minded and believe in right and wrong), the district allowed this gay teen to wear make-up and female clothing to school. I’m sure the ACLU, other civil liberty and gay groups applauded the decision, and are thankful for the expression that the school allowed this teen to show. The family on the other hand believes that the allowance of these actions is what ultimately lead to the teen’s death. Over the next few months, lawsuits will probably be filed, conservative groups will say that the teen should not have been allowed to do this, and civil liberty groups will blame the school for not have CIA opperatives watching his every move and protecting him.

Being gay is not normal. Less than 10% of the world population is gay. The real reason that gays are being treated the way they are is because they want to flaunt their sexuality to the whole world and MAKE people accept the lifestyle. Look, as a society we accept the gay person as who they are. We don’t accept the lifestyle, and it makes sense. We are programed to reject things that are abnormal (cancer, diseases, bad food, etc). Tollerance and acceptance needs to be evaluated, and then rejected. We need to love the person; and not be forced to tollerate or accept the lifestyle. It’s because of this doctrine that this poor teen is now dead.
