Earlier this week, the Supreme Court, with a 5-4 decision, ruled that the detainees at Gitmo had a right to a fair trial in the court of law. This has republicans fuming, and the democrats singing praises: “Everybody has a right to a fair trial.” Um… just a little note to democrats; we are in a time of war, and the people held at Gitmo are terrorists who want to do harm to the United States. I don’t want to live my life in fear, but if anyone of those detainees were to get out, it could cause serious safety concerns for the US. Also, democrats are singing praises because we are leading by example and showing unity with the world. Please tell this to the families whose child was beheaded because he was westerner, or a World War II POW. This ruling doesn’t fly with me, and it shouldn’t fly with the majority of Americans either.
