Humanizing our Pets Part II
admin / Category: Today's SocietyAnother way that we are humanizing our pets is by spending an exorbent amount of money on medicine for our pets. If Fido one day comes down with cancer one day, many pet owners will fork over thousands of dollars to either beat the cancer, or to keep Fido living for a couple of more years. I understand that pets become part of the family, and when they die, the family goes through some form of grieving. But there is no reason to spend thousands of dollars on a pet when that money could be better used to serve the family, or society in a better way. When I was a kid; I new the hard realities of life, and when a dog of mine was ill, I wanted my parents to put him/her down because I knew it was best for the animal. Then a few days later we got a new dog. Yeah losing the pet hurt a lot, but I was able to save another dog a few days later; and we were pals for a long time.
