Economic Crisis
admin / Category: UncategorizedYou knew one day it was going to happen; one day something so big was going to happen during the Republicans watch, and all fingers would be pointed at them. The sad thing is that… it’s really not the Republicans fault. Now, I’m not saying that it’s all the democrats fault either; but the media, the voting public, and democratic senators are quick to place the blame on the Republicans; anything for a vote. Here’s how I see things regarding this.
1) The bailout bill was a lose-lose situation. If it passes, people begin screaming that we are becoming a socialist nation, and government is intruding way to much on the public sector. I agree with this, but, if nothing gets done, and businesses fold; how many more people now lose their jobs? And with loss of jobs comes unemployment; and hire taxes anyway.
2) The bailout failed, and now citizens are crying foul because congressmen didn’t protect the people. People are saying that the Republicans are too in bed with corporations, and we need to get more democrats in office. Um, by the reports I’ve been reading, a lot of this is occuring because of the deregulation bills that they pushed through.
3) Finally; all parties are to blame, but only one is shouldering the load. I believe that the Republican party is to partially to blame, but the democrats need to be accountable as well. What about all the democrats in bed with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? What about Congressman Franks? Finally, what about the Democrats who are so for equality that they approached lenders and said that they need to make loans more available to low income earners. This is truly why we are in this mess right now; because the democrats are so for equality and what everybody to be on the same plane, that people got over their head.
This needs to end, and needs to end quick. John McCain is taking heat for trying to step in, and Obama is getting praise for saying “calm down.” I’m sorry Mr. Obama, I am calm because I’m young and am living below my means, but I do need YOU to take responsibility and act.
In fact, that’s what we need from people in congress, responsibility. Instead we have both parties playing the role of a two-year old saying “It’s your fault.” Give me a break.
