Proud Papa
admin / Category: UncategorizedA little over 4 years ago, my life changed forever (in a good way). Four years ago, I got married, and the transformation from a selfish only child to a charitable husband began. Note: I’m not completely charitable yet, but still working on it on a daily basis.
This week, my oldest daughter, who is now three, took a big step to being a “big” little girl. She is now officially potty training, and almost out of diapers. While my pocket book is going to thank me for the momentous occasion, the reality of my girl growing up is something rather difficult to grasp. It seems like yesterday we brought her from the hospital, saw her crawl for the first time, heard her say “dadda” for the first time, and experienced her first steps. Going through the process of being a dad makes me thankful for the small things in life: a good night’s rest, coming home from a long days work, saying bed time prayers, and waking up the next day to go through everything again.
My daugher right now is very proud over herself. She is calling everybody, giving me hugs and high-fives, and is just growing up. Yesterday she said: “I’m a big girl now, and soon I can drive.” Although it will seem like forever for her before she can drive, that moment will come all too soon for me.
